FUEL COST -V- CAR SHARE SCHEME. GET BEHIND IT !!!

This time last year I paid 95.9p per litre when I topped up with fuel for my first meeting of the year, now it’s a whopping £107.9. That’s a 12.5 % increase. Ouch.

Once again this year, the CAR SHARE scheme is available on allstox, to be found here ]http://allstoxforum.niceboard.com/car-share-f5/ . There are simple instructions to be followed at the top of the page. It does not matter what formula you follow, its there for YOU.

Why travel alone when you could share the cost’s, and possibly, as I did through the scheme last year, form friendships ?.

Why sulk the week before a meeting you can't get to, when you could at least put a request for a lift on the forum, and possibly make it to what could always be ‘the meeting of the year’ ?

We will be pushing this scheme, now that people will really be feeling the fuel cost’s bite. It cost nothing to try this, but the benefits could be huge, both short and long term, for yourselves, the people you help and meet, the promoters and therefor, the good of the sport itself. Even if you don’t want to be part of allstox site, that’s fine by us, but if everyone got into the habit of taking a quick look at the car share section in the week before a meeting, it could only possibly benefit everyone in the long run. It can though only be as good and successful as we think it can be, with the willingness of YOU the fans to see it work.

We will be forwarding a release to all BriSCA promotors urging them to support the scheme in their programme’s.

Fao all Promoters,

Will rising fuel costs affect your gates at meetings ? Simple answer, YES THEY WILL.

Myself and Jane at allstox.co.uk introduced a car share scheme when we opened our website last year and met with some early success. Now we feel the time is right for not only us, but yourselves to push this scheme. This will cost you nothing other than a few lines in your programme’s or maybe a link from your websites, but the benefits could see more customers through your turnstiles, and assist both fans and promoters alike.

I have prepared the following brief intro which you are welcome to use in your programmes, publications or websites….

CAR SHARE SCHEME FOR OVAL RACING FANS.

At allstox.co.uk we have a car share scheme which we hope will help all fans, who whether through rising fuel costs or lack of transport will be able to use to arrange to get to meetings they may otherwise miss.

It has its own subsection on our site, is simple to use, and has a link directly from our homepage

If you are going to a meeting and have spare seats, or would maybe only be able to go if you can share the fuel costs, then you can post an offer of a lift.

If you are desperate to get to a meeting, and for whatever reason are struggling to make it, then you can post a request for a lift.

So why not take a look ,and as a fan of whatever form of oval motorsport you are in to, give it a try and see if you can make it work for you. It can only possibly help both fans, promoters and the sport itself to stay healthy.
