Following on from power output, who do you think spend most money getting a car onto the track? ie chassis, engine, performance add ons

Don't include transporter or new tyres every race just plain and simply the car presented ready to race. Maybe even top 5 in order you think?

I would say either the Smiths or Murray Harrison as i have heard he has changed bumpers numerous times this year. Would think the Wainmans spend a pretty decent amount too

Yes, the bumpers really are the most expensive part of a stock car. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Back to the question....

I suppose it depends on how much they value their time per hour.

You can either buy a brand new ready to race car for a large cash outlay but mininal time outlay, buy all the parts and build it yourself for a lesser cash outlay but large time outlay, or something between the two. But remember that all the hours you spend in the workshop building your car are hours that you aren't out working and earning the £ to pay for it.

Getting complicated, lets see

Take each drivers present car, brand new, not considering perceived performance, or the fact as a fan you think a blah blah car is more attractive or wotever.

Which 5 do you rate as most valuable in purely a cash sense. One entry per driver.

id reckon

I suppose it would come down to a drivers personal wealth as you can spend as much as you want or need to if you have got several million stashed away. That's if you wanted to.
A wealthy sponser or backer ( usually kept secret ) would be a major factor.
A driver who builds his own car and seldom gets major damage dosn't neccesarily need a mega budget ( i.e Andy Smith ) while someone lower down the grades may spend far more than the recognised stars if they get regular damage.
So if you could find a list of everyones personal fortune then there would lie your answer, the list might not be what you first expect, the driver who bought Andy Smith's shale car would i'd of thought have a reasonable budget.
People say Stock Car racing is a working man's motor sport, don't you believe it, it attracts drivers with all different financial resourses.

Seeing as the Smiths build & repair their own cars, Im sure they dont spend as much as you may think .... where as many drivers buy a new FWJ car, sometimes ready to go & race. Besides It's non of my business what people spend really!

Bumpers can be changed for next to nothing if you make them yourself, and most drivers would do.

probably too many variables to say who has the biggest budget or to even guess at what budgets drivers run to

Might not sound much but if replacing then a number of times it does all start to add up
