also beaks dont think giving your opinion is saying that you could do better than the people that were running the show and it wasnt one of those things that probably could have been forseen, but you saying that people know best etc does that mean that Andy Smith should know better than the promotors etc because thats what it all boiled down to at the saturday meeting?? And finally before my soap box turns into suds I sometimes think that if you did put a team of 'fans' together that they could probably do a good job of running a meeting from start to finish

ok finished
jane

ok...

i'm not saying i know better, i don't...

the point that i'm trying to make is that people often become an instant expert when sat in an armchair, or the day or so after the incident...

i know for a fact that there are a few very smart people on these forums, but a lot of people do seem to get over excited with there comments on internet forums... which is why i put my comment on setting up an a-team of internet nobbers to see how they get on...

i'm sure andy smith and every other driver out there has a valid opinion, but ultimately it isn't the wild west, and the stadium management are ultimately responsible for the H and S of the drivers, along with the paying public - there is so many things that have to be dealt with... so i stand by my opinion (which is just that)

to be honest, these forums are still doing more harm than good... they're good for a laugh and very good for the social side... but i still feel like they're dragging the sport down...

this may come as no surprise to some, and maybe unwelcome to others... but i'm afraid until we stop this kind of hysteria... we're hammering in nails into the sport with a dirty great sledgehammer y'all...

that's me done, over and out

beaks

but you post your point of view on here which is not always positive (no offence meant by the way just a point )

Firstly, Andy Smith is a member of the bscda along with Paul Hines, both were involved at "hole side" representing the drivers, along with many others I saw.
Secondly, with size of rock and rubble being brought to the surface no sane person would of continued racing, the promotion have a legal duty of care to all in the stadium.
Thirdly, rebels were allowed to race as they were not spitting lumps of rock when they went by the hole.
Lastly, what would Kings Lynn, Belle Vue, Sheffield, Scunthorpe, Stoke have done differently?

Just the way I saw it on turn 1 Sat night.

my time in oval racing has shown me that you should always expect the unexpected

it was just a hole, but its possibly turned into the most talked about hole in oval racing, its more than that now as its now a celebrity hole and may appear at a venue near you

ffs people, get over it, or even get in it, choose as you may, next up is the BDC so why not put your energy into that event

understood, but normally my negativity is when people are dragging the sport down... it's very rare these days when i slag off a promotor / meeting / driver...

anyway, we're all entitled to our opinions... guess we should leave it there chick ??

Had a chat with Beefy at Cov in the pits, (nice overalls btw).
Getting fed up of everybodys glass being half empty.

Me more than most should have been a bit hacked off.

Worked my Butt off all week and WAS so looking forward to Cov weekend,

Saturday, was working, shot across to Cov, arrived at 8, in a suit, LOL, left at 1030 when meeting abandoned and back to work, into London and back to Premier Inn at Cov to bed for 3am.

During the meeting on Sunday, Mrs O tells me my little one is unwell and had to go to hospital. I leave Cov immediately and hot foot it up north.

From a racing point of view, this double header which I have looked forward to for ages was a washout personally and of course the hole situation just adding to it.
Also not a great weekend for the sports No 1 either, BUT

Maybe its my age, (still in my 30's) maybe its where I am in life but i am doing my best to be positive and look on the bright side of things.
Suppose I am an optimist and just sick of moaners and reading about moaning.
I could talk about the hole, the 3 formulas, the dryness of the track, the toilets, the car park, the chips I could go on.

Its simple really.

if Brisca F1/F2 etc isnt your bag anymore, stop going, stop viewing, stop wasting your time on the forum moaning and watch X Factor.
AS Beaks says, people are hasting its demise.

AS soon as the hole apppeared I could almost hear the tap tapping of keyboards going on up and down the land.

Anyway I am off to bed as I am knakered to dream my dreams where the sky is blue and the grass is green and the air is fresh.

It can be for you to, you just have to look for it.

Cool Cool Cool

i'm not the messiah, just a very naughty boy...

i certainly don't think i'm above everybody - we all have an opinion and we all love the sport - but some can see a little further than others...

sorry y'all, until this (or any other forum) has strict rules that say you can only have an approved opinion, then, i shall, until further notice continue to say what i feel...

unfortunately myself and NOS are happily married, but should circumstances change, i'm sure a civil ceremony can be arranged...

yours in angel dust,

beaks

ok, can't really be bothered to get into a urinating contest...

i have my (agreed, sometimes strong) opinions, but have, and never will direct any form of abuse to fellow posters...

smash we've never met, so let's not get all bitter and twisted on a public forum...

i'll be at belle vue on sunday, so come and say hello - i'm the lanky one with the big mouth...

regards,

beaks
