| I noticed on Stoxnet a thread about prices rising at Coventry starting from tonight and felt i needed to mention something to see what people think. I dont mind paying a little more, after all things generally go up with inflation but what i dont understand is why maybe a 4,000 crowd is expected today and the meeting starts at 6pm so why on earth are they only opening the turnstiles at 5pm !!! I beggars belief that so many people will be left in the cold and have alsolutely no time to spend their money at the stadium before hand. Lets be honest here, an hour does not give enough time for a major queue to get follwed by a walk round the pits and then a major queue to get some food or beer. Moral of the story is it is no wonder that the prices have gone up and it seems Coventry are shooting themselves in the foot by opening so late and not allowing its patrons time to spend any money never mind their welfare! Its going to throw it down in a while and itsfreezing cold. Is this any way to thank your most trusted servants to your business?? |

| Have you been on Grumpy pills or something ??? its not just a case of opening it up , it has to be staffed to H & S standards etc etc etc , And staff come from miles around I am sure , there is a bigger picture if you look outside the box, why not e-mail Jeremy and suggest ways he can improve his takings , I am sure he would be most interested ..... _________________ Infamy , Infamy , they've all got it Infamy.....

| I don't think vfv has been on the grumpy pills at all.. I think it's a perfectly reasonable post, making a good point. I've thought the same for years David _________________ 'BriSCA F1.. The Passion That Unites Us All'

| As it happens at the Coventry British last month me, Chris29 and Delmack, were discussing exactly this point. The turnstiles opened late (now can you believe that!), and when we got in we went to the under grandstand bar for a pint and they had the football on, so we watched the game, at half time wandered round the pits then went back for the second half. It occured to us how much income the stadium were losing pre-meeting, if they opened at 4 or even 3-30, open the bars/coffee places etc, maybe arrange some food, a curry night or something, have the footy on, or a band, or some stock car related event with the drivers there and some videos, maybe a driver talking through the vid of a race etc.......well we reckoned there was a huge potential for a stadium like coventry to vastly increase income. Just a thought!

| on a worse note i am sending this from the meeting and the 5 races we were expecting before 7pm well there has only been 2 so far. With rain coming down and not likely to stop i can see a total farce occuring. By the way they did not start on time either |

I think you will find that they open the turnstiles late at Coventry and they always have done even in the 80,s is because the pits get really busy and the promotion probably want majority/all the transporters into the pits before thousands of people start walking around, probably an H & S thing.
Promoters always ask the drivers to be there an hour before start so 5 o`clock is right if the start is 6pm, just my view on the situation anyway, im probably wrong though...lol. |

| Must say I think the turnstiles could be opened sooner, now is it me ,but I have noticed the Coventry website carries very little information, about forthcoming meetings, all the other circuits do good coverage, and display drivers lists I have grumbled about Coventry in the past, and vow that I would not go to another meeting there, So guess where I was tonight ?can not blame Coventry for the weather, or even the kami kazi fireworks, which seemed to be spectator bound, but I was pleased when they called the meeting off,I have followed stockcars since the Cadwell park days, and Coventry was always one of the meetings to look forward to, sadly I will now think twice about going, best meetings this season ? Kings Lynn, without a doubt. |

| I've been going to Coventry for nearly 35 years, and in the eighties and nineties went to every meeting, regardless of the weather. And that included long journeys fromy native East Yorkshire, and then from Dorset. But of late I have lost the urge to go. I even emailed Coventry with my concerns about price and value for money, especially when the F2's were dropped. I had never complained to any promotor before, and my criticism was constructive, but the emails went unanswered. |

| I went tonight, paid my £17 and watched stockcar racing. It could have been worse, I could have been at home in front of my computer reading drivel like this whilst the drivers were giving their best in atrocious conditions. |
