Its a fine line when owning a site and people stiring things up or speculating on what they think had happened/gone on has to be watched the same thing happened with moodie, so all I was getting at is that he must have been cleared otherwise surely he wouldnt have been allowed to race.

#445 Nigel Green - Tyre Testing

A sample from Nigel Green's tyre used at the World Final weekend at Buxton was tested along with five others, and returned a result that was significantly higher than all the rest for a chemical called dioctyl phthalate, which has previously been identified as common to most tyre softening products.

Nigel Green was then suspended from racing and handed down the 12 month ban that is mandatory for this offence.

On Friday October 2nd, the laboratory reported that they had retested Nigel Green's sample and had found no evidence of excessive levels of phthalate, and was at a loss to explain how the first reading had been obtained.

On Monday October 5th, a second sample from the same tyre was extracted by Board of Control officials, and sent for analysis.

On Wednesday October 7th, the laboratory reported that the fresh sample had come up again with a negative result.

On Saturday October 10th, Nigel Green was given the go ahead to resume racing.

BriSCA F2 is extremely disappointed with this situation, and will be continuing to conduct a thorough investigation into this matter, with findings to be published in due course.

It has since been proven that Nigel wasn't cheating, as we all know, but this is the outcome of the BOC hearing into the other incident :-

Adam Joyce – Incident with Nigel Green at the conclusion of the 2009 World Final at Buxton.

The committee found Adam Joyce guilty on 3 charges.

a) Physical Violence on Nigel Green
b) Ramming the stationary car of 445 after the red flags
c) Endangering marshals during this incident.

The committee invoked the standard ban of 1 year for physical violence. They also prescribed that upon his return after the physical ban, Adam Joyce should be banned for a further 6 racing months for ramming the stationary car of 445, but this ban will be wholly suspended for a period of 12 months. Similarly a further 6 months racing ban is given for endangering marshals during the incident, on the basis that the red flags were out. This will also be wholly suspended for 1 year. This means that Joyce may return to racing on 13th September 2010, at which point he will have two 6 month bans suspended until 13th September 2011.

Joyce questioned why his protest over the initial 445 manoeuvre had not been dealt with. The paperwork for the Race meeting was available to the committee, and it does appear that he did fill out a protest form regarding the incident, but this was treated by Buxton Raceway as a statement regarding the incident rather than an official protest against 445. As Buxton Promoters were present at this disciplinary meeting, they agreed to accept the formal protest should have been dealt with. Furthermore, having viewed the video evidence of this incident, the committee decided that Nigel Green most certainly did have a case to answer as they felt that the move on the 656 car was a deliberate fencing as he purposely moved off the line going into the bend to make contact and subsequently fence the 656 car. Joyce was also awarded costs of £75.
