i was at coventry last night watching a good meeting and heard the announcer saying the f2's were a second a lap quicker than the f1's. i thought it would have been other way but i suppose lap times dont lie.

F2s put on a good show last night I thought, plenty of action in all the races. Not sure about lap times but the F2s certainly where better at the rolling lap re-starters than the F1 boys! Yeah Yeah there was some races stopped for lose wheels but as the old saying goes you cant make an omelette without breaking a few eggs!

What they did say was, that Martin Ford broke the race time record and was 3 seconds quicker than the fastest F1 race (16 laps I think he said) and also that Mark Simpson had the fastest lap ever around Brandon.

They often put down more water for the F1,s maybe that had something to do with it.

There was plenty of water on top but it was very dry underneath,no penetration (as the actress said to the Bishop). We struggled all night for 'drive' yet the car hadn't been altered since we won the final last meeting. | F2's are often quicker than f1's round most tracks, except the real fast tracks like hednesford. _________________ E.D.S. Motorsport For F2's Cheapest Prices! Sponsors of the 2009 Scunthorpe Track Championship, and the 2009 EDSMotorsport.co.uk F2 Grand National Championship Series. |

I dont think he was right in what he said though the 1's are faster at Cov there was a lap record last night but it was slower than the F1 lap record (I Think). many tracks though especially tarmac the 2's are faster due to the corner speeds

Overall speed isn't all that relevant. National Hot Rods and GP Midgets are faster than both F1s and F2s, but I know which I'd rather go and watch.
