Sorry chris 53 but if you and others feel the need to keep you own points tally then points updates can't be that freely available or you wouldn't bother doing your own . A bang upto date points chart "spoonfed" to all on stoxnet or allstox would generate more interest and that can only be good for the sport.

It's old hat, I've been comparing football scores and league tables with F1 stockcars for years, you're floggin' a dead horse.
Maybe the BriSCA appointed points compiler does it at his/her leisure throughout the week and doesn't want to share the information for some reason? Maybe he/she is not computer literate, who knows? The official BriSCA F1 points listing is more secretive than the next Harry Potter book.
It's not a very professional way to project the sport though.
Nobody outside the sport even knows there are grades and points and championships, the image of smashed up bomber cars cars going round and round a mud heap for a laugh then going home until next time, will live on.
We got the results sorted out on here and Stöxnyët over the last 4 years, maybe a team effort and we can bottom this as well? I'll provide any webspace required for publishing free. I'll even build a dedicated webpage. Hey, maybe BriSCA could sponsor it.......whoops, got carried away.
Like Carl says though there are often variables, but maybe it's just one driver number thats in the wrong place, maybe it's the odd point that is erroneous occasionally.
Anything is better than nothing.

Apologies to Andy11 and Zep - afraid I'm really missing the point of this one. Like I said previously, Carl has his points updated hours after a meeting ends, the BRISCA website has points updated usually by Tuesday after any weekend - so I'm not sure what we're missing????

Until Carl produced his Points Calculator, I personally posted a NS Points update after every meeting. These days, I just compare my manual calculations with Carl' s system generated ones, to make sure there are no mistakes either side. What problem am I missing - that the latest scores are not available, or that they are just not available from the 'official' sources fast enough??

One thing. could you put a small 'Date updated' at top of each table.

The official Grader/ statistician is Mr Barry Tempest who does a superb and concise job with every bit of statistical information and supplies the BSCDA newsletter, magazines and individual promoters, usually as early as a Monday morning following the day befores' point scores with various points tables such as Driver of the Month, NS, etc, etc which generally appear in the following weeks programmes and publications.

I am sure that arrangements can be made to improve the distribution of these for 2009.

As Chris53 has pointed out, following the last few rounds of the NS, I've checked the official BriSCA website and found the updated points within 48 hours of the meeting.

I think that because of the internet, we expect updated points charts to appear almost as soon as the reds are shown on the GN.

This is still an amatuer sport and relies upon the voluntary efforts of others to keep it running. That would explain why poinst charts take little time to be updated on the web.
