There has been an incredible amount of complaining lately (and rightly so) about not being able to see up to date points charts and im talking sometimes its like having to wait for weeks after a meeting to see an update which misses out the meetings inbetween!!
Carl H has had a pop at doing all the stats and points and i check it regularly and to be fair its a god send. They get printed in Stock car magazine but often they contain the points for the previous month as they are not done in time and although stoxworld is by far the best method again one has to wait.
Maybe its time for an appointed person to do the points? Update them after every weekend and WE pay for them, not sure of the amount, £3 or £5 or £7 per year to have up to date points charts at the touch of a button.
Lets be fair people here cant tell me that they are satisfied with paying £3.60 for stock car magazine when it contains very little of anything of any value anymore i stopped buying it last year, the content is bad and the spelling and errors an absolute joke.
It just seems a simple idea and rather than spending £36 on pointless stock car magazine we can spend a tenth and get up to date points straight after the meetings. Just an idea and Carls decision in the end but certainly an opportunity to help out and earn some money for Carl in the process. Any ideas or suggestions. No clowns please making stupid remarks, positive or negative suggestions only.

Personally, the only points that bother me are the top 2 or 3, which i can keep track of easy enough.....and dont buy the magazine , so wont save a pennny. Not for me, but ive occasionally been in the minority, and often a clown

You could always try doing a better job yourself, then you'd be able to make millions of pounds selling the magazine

Just make sure you give up any other life you may have, and be prepared to work 36 hours straight through

years ago and I mean lots of years ago, I did it in stock car supporter magazine,we have plans to do it on our site next year. Would be quite happy to do it on here as well. Would give me an interest as I dont get to many meetings these days.

I think vfv21 is making a good point in that points charts are hard to find and out of date when you do. Imagine if at the end of a weekends football no-one had worked out the league tables. Must be just as frustrating for the drivers "am I doing enough to keep my roof colour" etc. Don't think a pay to view would work I feel it should be brisca promoters or the bscda getting the weekends points haul on the net by at least weds following the weekends meetings.Some race formats are very difficult to know how score with not all scenarios covered in the rule book. Very easy to say what you'd like on here but unless someone is prepared to spend the hours doing the work it just aint gonna happen.

As I said I would be more than happy to do it, so if nobody else volunteers and jane and ped have no objection i will go ahead. I will be doing it for our site so can post it on here as well. Money doesnt come in to it.

for sure, easy for me to say though...

agreed that the 'official' websites should do this though, if this sport is to move forward this kind of thing needs to happen... the f1 website is a joke... that isn't funny etc etc

Thanks for the idea of me getting cash for something I'd do for free. For anyone that hasn't seen my points charts, you can find them here, along with my disclaimers about accuracy.

The main problems I've had have been changes to results after the event (not been too many of these), the number of qualifiers for the Final from the heats and consolation, and the points regarding drivers who were testing tyres. The official results are on MyLaps, although these are actually incorrect in regard to tyre testing drivers. And the rule book is inconsistant and vague in places too.

Anyway, I intend to carry on with the points charts next season.

Carl has sort of made the point (sic) above - does anyone actually look what is available before jumping on the wingeing bandwagon??

Updated NS points were online from Carl after every meeting - sometimes within hours - and even the much abused BRISCA site had updated points online usually by the Tuesday after each weekend.

I also keep my own record of the top 5 in the NS/NP and know of at least two others that do the same - so here's another mega idea. Instead of complaining about what isn't being spoon fed into your own personal section of the internet, go click a few buttons and find the information that is there for all to see. If anyone really can't do that - just ask on here or on Stoxnet.
