Heat 1 - 324,101,56
Heat 2 - 324,101,56
Final - 101,56,501
Good weather and a great turnout of cars made for an enjoyable and action packed day of racing at Buxton. Was great to yet again see 2 new drivers racing both with smartly turned out cars, 24 Darren Wood and 324
Sam Cole all the way from East Anglia!!!
Heat 1 was all action right from the off with 56 Neil Mac picking his way through the pack to chase down both 101 Dan Cooper and early leader 324 Sam Cole. With a few laps to go Neil managed to move Sam out the
way and take the cheqeured flag. Sadly Neil was docked 2 places after the race and so sam took a great victory in his first ever race.
Heat 2 once again saw 324 leading and a good battle behind between 93 Kev Picken and 501. Neil Mac and Dan Cooper took full advantage of this moving up in to 2nd and 3rd places. Waved yellows came out after
808 Mark Trueman had a heavy impact with the barrier coming out of turn 4. This allowed 56 and 101 to overhaul Sam Cole, but on the last lap they were slowed by a back marker and 324 took full advantage to come home for his second win after a great last bender. 501 Martin Baker came home 4th after an almost race long battle with 388 Ian Broomhead, ian unluckily being slowed by a backmarker on the penultimate lap.
The Final yeat again saw 324 have an early lead with 501 hot in pursuit, after 6 laps 501 was close enough to put the bumper in and take the lead. Later in the race both 101 and 56 came through into 1st and 2nd
places, 56 Neil Mac chased hard right until the end but wasnt quite close enough to catch the leader. Dan was overjoyed with the final win, so much so that he celebrated in a unique way that i doubt he will want to
repeat..
There was lots of bumperwork all meeting long further back in the pack from 388 Ian Broomhead, 93 Kev Picken, 6 Andrew Edwards and 256 Neil Cooper. All the recently new drivers to the formula also gave a good account ofthemselves.
