No problem my mate Glen 69 is 6 foot 5 inch and has lots of room , our points champion will give advice for altering a national ministox also as its not a big job ,have put his name and number on earlier ,once you got a car its not too expensive to race ,our first car cost us £400 ,we spent a couple of hundred on it ,and it was quite competitive ,you only need a trailer and small tow car ,so very reasonable,.

As as been answered this formula does exist...I see it as another pointless formula for the sake of having it. Mini's should be for the kids and thats it. Although if they could be intergrated as part of the 1300 saloons I'm all for that. I think we need to cut down the number of formula's but it stll seems people are dreaming up more and more idea to make a one make formula just cos they like a certain car or whatever. In the end they end up being another 8 or 10 drivers racing per formula when there could be 20 cars in the one formula

Well Chris everyones entitled to there opinion ,but personally dont see the point of five 1300,s racing round ,as been the case this year, nothing against 1300 lads as i do hope they take off .But the mini,s have been far better in 2009 [go on get one bought you know ya wanna ]

Well yes that's basically part of what I'm saying...another formula added...4 or 5 cars less in one formula just to make another with 5 cars going around. Its not just Buxton guilty of this in the past 25 years or so. Yes sometimes things take off, but only at the detrement of another forumla. ...anyway..I still think a one make mini formula should be for the under 16's only

To be honest, i think it's one of the best ideas I've heard in a long time. With the exception of the best and the richest, the vast majority of drivers who, have or do, compete in National Ministox never go on to compete in any other formulas. However if they could move upto the adult variety upon their 16th birthday and race the same car they were in the 10-16 formula it would be great. Needless to say though, it would be a logistical nightmare if you have say a thirteen yr old and a fifteen yr old and the two varieties were at different tracks. Having said all that, count me in. I'm fed up of my lad telling me he's quicker than me and a chance to prove him wrong would be very welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The problem with the national ministox and all other formulas are that they all have got expensive to run.

With formula ministox you do not have to spend loads of money ,i,ve just raced all season [10 meetings including Brampton,Warton,& Buxton ] and its cost me about £500 thats including tyres ,and repairs ,parts etc.Just compare that with say f2

Obviously retiring drivers from National Ministox are one of the groups we would like to target for our formula ,but as i said in a previous post ,mum or dad could even have a go [my missus has taken one out] one or two father and sons race including myself & David 79, We,ve a young 17 year old lady driver [currently a superstar] racing. You could not meet a friendlier group of people ,always offering help, advice, encouragement, we look on them as a second family.

Fancy going to all that trouble and expense for a formula that was supposed to be a fun formula for kids. When I did ministox as a kid it was as bent as a nine bob note, standard 850 engines my arse. |
