3.SUSPENSION
All cars must achieve a minimum ground clearence, between the wheels of 3".This will be checked by rolling a pipeunder the car from one side to the other.
Each car will be permitted one standardstrut/shock absorber, for each wheel/corner of the car.
Extra shock absorbers (like the Avo f2-style) will no longer be permitted.
Front struts must be mounted in original position-details to follow.
No multi hole adjustment permitted on rear wishbone mountings.

I'm sorry but I cant see how these rule changes are going to make more drivers race tarmac. A standard strut/ shocker each corner..... they will just put valved inserts in the legs to get around that one.

Whats wronge with putting an F2 style shocker on anyway ?? Its not that expensive.

How on earth can front struts be in the standard position when most cars are space framed at the front anyway.....original to what ???

Softner banned ......F2's haven't got on top of that yet, so good luck with that one!!

Which would of course mean a lot of travelling to the meeting from the three totally seperate regions of tar !!

How about a survey sent out to all current and recently retired driver to at least gauge opinion ?

that would be called consultation which the ssca have never done with drivers, just told them this is the rules like it or lump it.at least deane wood had a meeting for his drivers, even if he ignores them, at least they can put across their views.
i can see what the bigger picture is here which is to eventually merge the national and spedeworth saloons together which i feel would be benefical to drivers as more tracks available to race and and different drivers to spice things up a little!!
The only problem with changing rules every yr is each change costs us drivers money over the winter which eats into the amount we can spend on actually racing so more changes = less cars at meetings.advance notice of changes a yr in advance would stop this situation where people may have just bought a top notch car to only find out a few weeks later that its going to need even more money spending to make it legal for next yr.Why the ssca have sent out only half the information which is not very clear about proposed rule changes and in very same letter say rules will be sent to all drivers at end of october, whats the reason and point of this??why not wait til they have the new rules available then it would be clearer and everyone would know exactly what is happening next yr and not be guessing.

With the above post and the fact that the majority of drivers appear to care about the formula, then it seems to me that there is a need for a drivers voice to speak as a whole.
Has anyone thought of starting a drivers commitee ? Surely this would be a great way forward to ressurect this great formula. Promoters/ssca would surely see that it would be in their interest to work with the drivers to get the best from the formula ?

sounds like a good idea i know are lot of drivers are really concerned about these rule changes as there cars will be scrap, doubt if the ssca would give them £2000 towards a new car uder the scrappage scheme
