I attended the Kingslynn meeting on the 31 10 09 good meeting good action. the reliant robins were funny. shame about fwj. but a good meeting. Took fwj about an 1hr i think to exchange engines took the one out of danny's car and put it into his car. the teams worked very hard to do this. it was good. to see such dedicated sportsmanship. well done to all. Smile

Kings Lynn - 31/10/09 - F1

Was also at Kings Lynn last night and it certainly was a great effort by the Wainman team, shame it didn't yield any results. The Smith boys also drove well. Stuart to maintain his Shoot Out lead and Andy trying really hard to close him down.

Paul Hines and Tom Harris were on the pace at times and Murray Harrison drove well to take the final. I am not qualfied to comment on whether or not the Goodyear tyres gave him an advantage.

An enjoyable meeting, if not the best at the Norfolk Arena this year.

The fireworks were good too. bom

BELLE VUE NOV 1st F1, F2, BANGERS

Was a fantastic meeting, great atmosphere, lots of spectators there, fireworks good as usual.

Shame about the silver roof going to Rochdale, next year a certain driver will have an hot curry before a meeting then he will have some fire in his belly.

Then to top off one of the best meetings for us this season, a certain RED TOP driver jocolor gave me a hug and a kiss drunken just has he was getting in his wagon. A true gent and as they say HE WILL BE BACK

Kings Lynn - 7/11/09 - Saloons

‘Bonfire Saturday’ and as tends to be the case a number of excellent looking meetings to pick from. In the end I stayed local and went to watch the saloons at Kings Lynn. High 30’s in terms of car numbers and as always excellent action.

A lower grade benefit to be honest and particularly well done to Kris Woods for a fine heat and final double, even surviving a last bend hit from Jamie Sampson to take the final win. As mentioned elsewhere the shale action in this class during 2009 has been nothing short of brilliant. I hear plans are a foot to change things next year with tarmac racing in mind but as far as the shale goes if it isn’t broke don’t fix it!

Support came from the TSR Bangers, which featured one massive roll which saw the driver simply put the car into first and drive away, top stuff. Also Pre 70 bangers, which I must confess to quite enjoying. The effort put into preparing some of these stunning machines is amazing.

Can’t finish without a word for Buster and the track preparation team. The surface was smooth and fast, there was no dust and it didn’t need watering all night. Your are a credit to the sport.

First proper cold meeting of the year, two pair of socks and gloves needed! Oh, and the fireworks were excellent. A great night out.

SKEGNESS 8/11/09 - F2

A crisp clear Sunday afternoon and my first trip to Skegness for a few months and equally my first F2 meeting for some time too. It was nice to see a decent entry in the pits with some big names present who perhaps could have been expected to be elsewhere.

The prospect of more fireworks brought in a decent sized, noisy crowd to watch the action. The white and yellow races was up first and was won by Craig Kendall who has apparently been doing great things lately. The second title event was the Summer Series final run in points order which was won quite comfortably by Dave Polley. He also took the final too although this time only with the help of a perfectly time last bend push on Martin Coles. The race was flagged early on for 2 rollovers in the first few laps with 333 (sorry didn’t catch his name) and Graham Mole both going over.

In a nice touch Dave was presented with the National Points trophy by Chris Bradbury after the final along with picking up the track championships trophy as well. A fantastic effort all season by Mr Polley and his team.

Support was from the always entertaining 1300 Stock Cars and the Rookie Bangers. Excellently presented as always at my favourite track and in my opinion the best promotion in the country. The F2’s were excellent all afternoon and I really hope I can make next years world final on the Funcoast!

I can’t comment on the Fireworks as I headed off after the Grand National as it’s a slow old drive back to March and even on a chilly November evening there were quite a few caravans to negotiate on the way home.
