Is that a loose battery on the #1 car?........ a bit dangerous. That could have shorted out on the chassis and fried the traction control unit.........

Toms car was using a ford 9" axle and believe they are only supposed to use the centre diff section and not all of the axle as it's lighter than a transit. I've no idea if he's using all the axle or not (it can't beg that hard to look underneath the car to tell if you know what you are looking for can it?) but he was using f2 style bracing on the axle which can be used to adjust axle deflection

Gee-whizz, is that where were at now... lightweight metal here there and everywhere, saving an ounce here or here..  No ...
Royal mail would love tom harris, savings here, here, save a millionth of a penny here, how much bonus d'ya want tom 50k a mill ...  Sad
someone remind me here, but did tom not get sent home halfway through a meeting recently for lightweight brake bits?.
which of course was an oversight.  Rolling Eyes ..
Has no-one told him yet that if you use chilled fuel..
yes fuel from a jerry can thats been in a chest freezer in your transporter, with a minor carb adustment (half a turn on your mixture screw) you're looking at
lapping maybe a quarter of a second quicker than anyone else..
..
bad timing this mart for me as ive just turned off eurosport and the tour de france as in the name of competitivness riders are basicly now human skeletens doing full blood transfusions to avoid drug testers. have you seen there chests when thete riding with there shirts open. sad.. 2% body fat.. superhuman fitness??.. er no. living dead..

Why bother with the weight of F2 style bracing.. save yourself an ounce (EACH SIDE ) of steel, or is Tom on Carbon Fibre or some metal imported from Mars..  Razz ..
When you can get ELIMINATOR BEARINGS  from the good old US of A...
Enable the eliminator to perform at its load rating at longer length with through axles, minor 'DEFLECTION'   distorts and damages precision bearings races.
'DEFLECTED AXLES' can bump up against the inside of the roller tube at these lengths, causing roller manufacturers to add 'center pucks'  ADDING COST (cant see that being an issue  tongue )  AND MORE WEIGHT !!!!.... call the cops !!.  affraid .
The elimination of a thru axle at longer lengths ALLOWS FOR THE TUBE TO DEFLECT without the same AXLE DEFLECTION on the ball races PERMITTING USE OF A LIGHTER GAUGED 1.9" rollers as a substitute for a HEAVIER  pale  and more costly 2.5"  rollers.

So there you have it boys 'n' girls, no need for cumbersome fabricated retainers to stop your axle getting banged about..  oh-no, just have a word with paul hines to pick you up some 'eliminator bearings' ... just make sure he doesnt try and smuggle them home in his hand luggage..

Or maybe take a dump just before lining up to race *  that should make a good 2oz if difference?.
combine it with a haircut, blow your nose, only 1 tear off visor strip per race, or go 'lundy' with an open face helmet....Heck why not yank your bloomin teeth out as well **,  all that weight you'll save would make for some devastatingly quick lap times..

* not advisable at Skeggy..
** and get the 'stock car fan look' ... most of the crowd seem to have had a go at some time on this one... was it a 70's thing?.

Too be honest who gives a rats arse, ever since people started racing cars there has been rumours of people either cheating or bending the rules!!!!!

It's motor racing, happens at all levels, if it annoys the drivers so much, do what Dan and Matt did at the weekend, cars don't tend to do much winning on their rooves!!!!

i was 1 of the people presumably that tom shouted "no photographs" at didn't stop me tho as you can see although i dont think the pic is clear enough to see anything that 'may be there that shouldn't be'
a question for the keyboard solicitors & lawyers if there is not any notices saying no photography can you be stopped except maybe by the owner or landlord ?
he wasn't on track long enough to put this plan into action
