Seems strange, if that is true, surely he shouldn't race the semi if he has no intent of taking his place on the World Final grid should he qualify? ... shouldn't he withdraw which will enable a reserve to step up and race in the semi????

Sounds like the best way of hammering home his thoughts on the matter.
Just like we Strike at work Lee, its the only way to get those in authority to wake up.... Maximum impact..  Twisted Evil
It wont be an empty space on the grid, one way or another a reserve jumps in, but causes more disruption and talking/highlighting the point.
"will he be here.....wont he????".
A hollow victory for Moodie should he be the victor on the night?.

Either that, or he reserves his place, not burning his bridges, then f%#s it off if nothings satisfactorily resolved, and keeps his options open.  Question

Or else 'Underpant Man'  catches up with Gordy the
night before?. silent

Love him or loathe him, Rob Speak.

Many people who know him have told me he has stated the Mildenhall semi final this weekend will be his last ever F2 appearance. Signing off in style, in the same year and within weeks of the Master, Bill Batten.

If you want to see it get to Mildenhall and see what happens, you can also sign the petition to help save the venue !!

The top dogs of the old school are signing off, what does the future hold ?

He did it around 20 years ago in Mike Robertson's Lada and was pretty decent at it.

Don't panic it's all part of the script, here's some more of it........
Driver A, puts car in back of skip lorry after early morning scrutineering and leaves it in the far corner of the pits
World final grids up with space and gate closed
Lorry backs up to pit gate and hiabs car over fence onto track
Driver A in the meantime walks up to start finish line and collects world finalist entrant trophy and also picks up world championship trophy and waves it in the air
Driver B breaks grid position and tries to push driver A car off the track
Driver A then runs down to driver B waving and pointing
A step ladder is then thrown into the ring and driver A climbs up it still gesticulating
Driver B then drives into the steps very slowly and then starts doing donuts around him
Driver A then jumps down and strarts trying to hit driver B over the aerfoil with the steps.........
Yep.......its a joke.

Steve Rees (Chairman of the ORC hearing) stated on here that Speak has not got a ban and  the BriSCA F2 website states that it was a recommendation from the ORCi which has yet to be considered.
With that hanging over him, it is understandable that Speak doesn't want to go and compete in what will be a very hostile environment for him and risk the opportunity to win Gold and Silver in F1, which has been his main focus this season.
Therefore, it is up to the powers that be in BriSCA F2 to get things sorted ASAP so that he knows where he stands.
There is no question that Speak and Moodie are the 2 biggest crowd pullers in F2 at the moment so surely it is in the best interests of the sport to have them both in the World Final if possible ?
Bearing in mind some of the hits that have happened in World Finals in recent years from both parties with no disciplinary action being taken then we must now be in the position that anything other than 'attempted murder' is acceptable when the gold roof is up for grabs.
Come on BriSCA, get it sorted and give us the race we all want to see.

I don't think it matters either way to be honest.
It pains me to say it but with the grid position he has and barring someone pulling a suicide move I think GM will stroll it from there with or without 218 in the race.

I'm still sad I won't see it though. Should be a top weekend.

Not so sure Ham.
From the front or the back I would have him as favourite, but anything can happen in the middle of the pack in a closed grid championship race.
If he survives the melee in the first couple of laps then yes it is probably a Moodie win.

Rob has gone on record as saying he wont be at the WF at Cowdenbeath, and stories abound that his last ever F2 appearance was to be the F2 semi final at Mildenhall.

At Taunton yesterday Rob finished 8th in his heat, 4th in the final and 3rd in the GN !!

Maybe the big hit in last years WF has effected his memory, inside row two at Cowdenbeath on Saturday night F2 World Final has probably just come back to him, will he be there or won't he !!
