I know what you mean Kingpin. I was just providing some information I thought relevant to Hams earlier question regarding track size Wink

Apologies (trying to create it on a 7" screen at silly o'clock and one track I have not visited....not a good combination).
...... here's another attempt at Arlington http://binged.it/1voihpK

Then it could be the history making first ever Brisca F2 Dual Surface World Championship.

Call it Stockcross, the new Spedeworth formula made up of a mix of the best! I wouldn't be leaving money on the table promoting this potential beauty. Wink

""The 2015 World Final will be promoted by Incarace at a track in the English Midlands.... ""

So there you have your answer , Birmingham, Hednesford or Northampton !!

Acescribe, post four on the thread.

If this man says its the Midlands, I'm 100 % happy with that.

Lets be honest it's down to Hednesford or Northampton.

Brum has not got the terraces for a world final crowd.

Oh ok. Acescribe are you someone from Brisca? If so should I know who you are!???
I assumed his comment was just the opinion of someone who is a fan like most on here, but Carlton are you saying it was something of an official Brisca reply!??...

Noooooo way too predictable. NIR a stinky no. Which leaves Brum and the super speedway!

Brum has an atmosphere minus one straight but that's a favourite of mine. Hedno similar to Ippy perhaps?

Hednesford and Northampton if Im honest, only tracks big enough to cope with a WF type crowd.

So how come all the Hednesford F1 world finals are looked on as classics ?

Same number of cars, admittedly bigger, but top man one taking on top man two, plenty of wild card entries that could upset the apple cart, plenty of top Dutch and Northern Ireland drivers will be well interested in qualifying as well.

Hednesford, Big track, needs lots of cars, high speed, but when the action comes , it comes big.

Admittedly not one that will appeal to the shale racing lovers of our sport unless there is a first bend pile up of all the expensive tarmac stuff which if recent World Finals are anything to go by could be a possibility, likewise the same could happen at Northampton, Birmingham or any other World Final venue.

Come and have a chat at the F2 stand at the NEC Autosports show when the fixture lists are produced, heart says Hednesford, head says Northampton might be a bonus ball surprise and Birmingham !!

Only one man knows, Mr Wood !!

Sorry but I can't think of anyone who would say that all F1 worlds there have been "classics"......just take the one Mr Speak won for instance.
Hednesford is a race track/its tarmac/it sometimes gets big incidents. But these incidents tend to end in big damage to either car or driver (and I know a couple of drivers who will no longer race there).
Lets just wait and see....all this guess work is just adding to the publicity silent

The 1988, 1991, and 1995 events were classics. The 2001 one wasn't.

As cars have got more and more technical, and hence faster and faster, Hednesford has come less and less suitable for stock car racing.

over recent years the F2 World Final has become a 2 or even 3 day event. With the restrictions around the use of Hednesford I'd imagine all roads will lead to Northampton. Not my personal favourite but it does tick the boxes for whole weekend events.

LOL Baz, keep on smiling fella. looking forward to the next calendar !!!

Two or three day F2 world final weekends make sense to a lot of travelling drivers, if that is the main criteria, Brum and Hednesford are out.

Hednesford is only allowed a Friday afternoon practise session for the National Championship weekend, a Saturday afternoon session and a finals Sunday I think.

Birmingham Wheels on a Friday afternoon out of the question.

Looks like its good old Brafield then folk's

2/3 day World Final meetings have become a regular occurrence but I am not aware that they are compulsory.
Fairly sure that Mildenhall and Arena were single day meetings in 2006 and 2007.

The attendance at Cowdenbeath this year was huge, rumoured to be over 6500, and had it not been for the temporary stand which was paid for by external parties then it would have been very cramped on the terraces. Unless Incaworth are prepared to bring in something similar then I don't think Northampton would be capable of holding a crowd of that size so the logical venue has to be Hednesford.

There were a lot of rumours over the Cowdie weekend that Hednesford was the chosen venue, and I even heard from several sources over the F1 weekend that it was planned to be a 2 day meeting on Cannock Chase, but we will have to wait for the official announcement.

I must say the Speedworth mayem raceway site has an interesting slogan "The most important people at the track are the spectators…"
Going completely off topic (having seen the video of that rotary turbo sprint thingy going around mayhem speedway). It appears to be lapping the track in just under 13 seconds.....pdq. What then has been the fastest 4 wheeled vehicle to lap a tarmac 390 ish metre track in the UK and what time was it?

Spedeworth also have a finger in the pie at Lochgelly, good track+facility's, local World Champ defending, stick that in the rumor pipe and smoke it.

The same could be debated over why the world masters venue has to be Northampton each year, post world final.

If the allocated promoter on the rota had the two day meeting, including the masters on the Sunday, then the most important people slogan should not hoodwink the drivers and fans too.

It doesn't make sense to keep travelling people on uneccessarily because one promoter decided to keep staging it the day after. So if it's Hednesford then its ok to move it there as it makes logical sense!

So that's how it works........
