PostSubject: Can Gordon Moodie claim a new F2 record ?   Sat Oct 18, 2014 1:28 pm

Gordon Moodie has 38 F2 finals to his credit so far this season. With nine potential meetings left for him to attend in season and 2 out of seasons sessions, can he over take Rob Speak and Bill Batten as F2 racings leading in calendar year F2 final winner, Rob won 41 in 1991 with Bill the current leader with 44 finals in 1977.

Same can be said for Rob and Bill, to win it, you've got to be in it.

Has he won any more since you posted this?
If his almighty follow in on 854 in Saturdays final is anything to go by this is a record he doesn't seem too bothered about. Laughing

Another follow in ?
Is he trying to see how many he can do before BriSCA show some balls and actually impose his suspended ban ?

Yes, & it gets better there was a bit of "afters" under waved yellows & Dawson was loaded yet for some reason Moodie was allowed to race in the grand national!!

In fairness the afters was only one way.
#7 limped round and parked in the pit bend layby and #854 limped round after him and ran into him. GM just sat with his arms out the window as if to say "nothing to do with me Guv".
Dave Borthwick passed us and went up to the video camera point on the back straight right after the race. Presumably to see if the incidents had been captured.

Moodie had a wee go at Dawson in the race before as well but mustn't have had him lined up properly.   Very Happy

He hasn't raced since Barford 26th October, not booked in (yet) for Birmingham this weekend for Shootout/gala meeting.

Pressure of work stated by others, perhaps he has ended his season early with several championship titles under his belt again.

At the end of the day its his car and his racing.

See you next season Gordon !!

Doesn't the 'national points' finish at the end of October?

No Baz, all points in meetings until Brum this Saturday count towards the final National Points Championship total.

I think the last grading period may finish in October, but points scored in November will be used to ascertain the first grading list of 2015.

I stand corrected everyone, if Mr Hamar states 9th November, then that is indeed the case.

Sorry for any confusion I may have caused.

This weekend then is just a final blast before winter to sort some of the rivals out before the start of 2015, 28th February !!

Hoping to be there, it usually is a good end to the long hard season

Mr Moodie was at Birmingham's end of season Gala night session, won another roof colour by taking the Shoot Out title and then meeting final, which sees his in year tally so far reach 40, a career best.

Two Christmas sessions are left this season at Kings Lynn and Barford, if he races at both and wins both finals he will beat Rob Speak's 41 in a year record.

Gordon may well be superhuman but even he will struggle to win be in 2 places at once on 28/12.

See Kings Lynn have altered another date and fixture a Christmas clash with Barford this time, original fixture list had Barford 28th, Kings Lynn 29th.

So no record breaking all year final winners tally for Gordon then, must do better next year as the teachers used to say !
