On the other side there has been few referances to this circuit. I have mentioned it a few times in the past and ,although JH has contacts there and ovalmotorsports/Mr Hines had visions of doing a bit of a demo once, no more has happened. There is a limit on noisy events and it is tarmac but I think there is room for a demo meeting of various formulas here to help spread the word of all things oval. So here are a couple of snippets to test the water......
This is not part of the main circuit so unsure if it will be included as one of the noisy days.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BetY1W0OjEM and map of area here http://binged.it/1tp2VNz . Theres load of space for transporters and car parking also.
Then for entertaiment value there is this drifting on the old hairpin (they called it the Alpine course from memory) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E31JVaKe_R8 and map http://binged.it/1tTfxSu
There is banking on the circuit side of the fence from Redgate down towards Hollywood, which overlooks the market site, so if it was allowed there would be little need for extra stands and also catering and toilets adjacent.
One for pure nostalgia.....@around 20 secs, going back up the hill after exiting the old hairpin and reaching the blind summit with the wheels in the air affraid http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=donington+grand+prix+1937&FORM=HDRSC3#view=detail&mid=D0E1BEE7242BAAA9E0B2D0E1BEE7242BAAA9E0B2

Other noisy events such as download festival appear to be extra to the number of noisy days allocated (not sure if this is due to being "off circuit" or just due to be being a non motorsport event). Here are the guidelines http://www.donington-park.co.uk/about-donington/circuit-noise-restrictions/ * note that the curfew is 8pm (so a meeting could piggyback a large event on a Saturday evening when the market is cancelled on the Sunday). This could bring in a new range of fans who are camping for the weekend.
