When Coventry closes the first Saturday of the months racing will move to Stoke.

Has anybody heard anything similar?

its a long running rumour A1.

Place your bets,

Kings Lynn for me , but it wont be the same and the crowd wont be the same, whether its Stoke, Kings Lynn, Brum, Cowdie, Northampton or Mildenhall et al.

When Coventry goes so will a lot of its hardcore , died in the wool, once a month nine times a year fans F1 fans.

I fear Carlton's prophecy may be correct. For example, my dad only does Coventry, despite Northampton being his (and my) local track. He certainly wouldn't venture to Stoke, possibly KL, but has little interest in tarmac racing unfortunately. Cov is certainly BriSCA F1's premier track and I think a fair percentage of its 'first Saturday of the month' crowd may only support Brandon. People are creatures of habit, and once that's not there I can see a few drifting away. I guess the great white hope of Odsal coming back is an ex idea too Sad

Stoke? Shocked

Anyway, 'the first of the month' slot, Ie payday for Joe Pubic is a good one for any promoter whose lucky enough to claim it should Cov not have a new venue! .....don't you think Sausages?

...Nice to see we're back on a tangent after the jolly boys day out last weekend Wink ...
I'm trying to ween myself off stuff like this, me and J4lmp work in a similair field where false promises ,aka bulls**t is rife, the frustrating bit is you hear stuff like "were actively looking for a replacemant site" etc-etc, blah-blah, waffle-waffle.. and in our combined time of 40yrs service we've heard it all (twice).
Therefore I'd rather not have a view on this as mine is tainted..
However I'll offer up this one.- if a replacement site ain't found , aaaaarghh, get out me head Twisted Evil and you end up using existing sites, then , aaaaaaaaaaaargh ,, it's happening again, it might take a year or two, but crowds will probably half which will have further detrimental impacts...

Ps, B.W.P, who's Joe 'pubic' scratch

When its gone, its gone, rumour also has it Hednesford's only got three years left.

What little tracks are going to step up to the plate, if any ?
