Now in this day and age you really wouldn't think it's rocket science but I feel it obviously is.

Therefore.

Rocket scientist required.

Two stock car meetings (F1 Dave), this weekend and so much constanation as to what time the meetings actually start.

You had fans rocking up at Lynn at the supposed start time to find a number of races has occurred and there was questions relating to the start time for Bv.

Come on everybody, just put the time on the net etc when the first race starts.
Doesn't matter what it is, F2's, bangers/saloons, minis etc.

It really shouldn't be this difficult should it.

I sometimes wonder if its a deliberate ploy to stagger the arrival time of the spectators.
Thus less traffic congestion, easier car park control, shorter queues at the turnstiles.

Being the anorak that I am I struggle to understand why people miss races just because a meeting starts 20-30 minutes before the advertised start time. Surely everyone tries to get there at least an hour before the start anyway ? Wink

Seriously though, I would have thought it would be common sense that bearing in mind the printed fixture lists are issued so far in advance it is always worth checking the promoters own website in the week leading up to a meeting to check the start time hasn't changed ? I know that most of them keep things up to date and generally keep us informed of what time the 'pre meeting' races are starting.

Just as a warning to everyone - with big booking lists in all 3 formulas and a 10pm curfew I wouldn't be surprised to see a change to the start time for NIR this Saturday. Keep an eye out here :

Have a look at the meeting preview, on 'the net'...

I know it's not ideal, but the information is there, you just need to go and look for it...

Sorry only just seen this.
I went to the Kings Lynn meeting on 23rd May. 6pm advertised start time. No problem getting there with time to spare. I was surprised to find that not only was the car park full but lots of cars parked along the main road. Like many others found a place in an industrial area but still no rush.
Once inside found the sound of engines wasn't practice it was racing that started well before 6pm.
I saw enough to keep me satisfied but if I was an avid fan I might not be too pleased. I had less shale to get out of my clothes Very Happy

First race ended at 5-57pm according to Stoxnet.
So started around 5-50?
Don't tell me "should have been in early, or only white and yellows."
By all means have them lined up, but start at the start time.
