| this doesnt make sense, why would a top driver, who was on poll, knowingly break the rules, when he knew he would be checked. Something doesnt add up here. |

| Martin Ford's carb was deemed illegal after last years semi at KL and he missed a 5th row in the WF. He didn't know it was illegal either, the engine builder put the carb on, Martin just drove the car. I smell a rat. It's a bit like Andy Smith using a secret fuel injection system to try to win from the front row on Saturday. Why?? |

| think you have to decide just how accurate the tool was that was used to check the carb and how would it stand up against most of the carbs in the race ? like most people have said why oh why would the odds on favorite to take the biggest race of the year knowingly use a illegal part ? i agree just dosent add up ? who was on the commitee that in the end decided the car broke the rules and are they affiliated to any other drivers ? surely it should be a totally independant person who makes the final decision ? think a top motorsport lawyer would drive a bus ( with a legal carb ) through this matter . hope gordon appeals against this decision . and reading the rules regarding the part there is no ruling that states the size so how can it be too big ? |

| The rules state the type of carb that can be used, and those carbs only come in one or two sizes, and you're not allowed to machine them.
Was Ian Thompson driving his soon-to-be-illegal tilting car? |

You've left out an important word there - AN engine builder, or THE engine builder, please? |
