| http://www.lochgelly-motorsport-complex.co.uk/ Apologies if anyone has already seen this on Ovalchat, but I thought I'd bring it across here, since it seems more relevant to us. Not a Cowdie replacement apparently, but a whole new track running seperately, which they're expecting to be finished next year sometime. |

A new track anywhere is good news IMO, far too many have been lost over the years, and as I said if Cowdie did go the same way it would devastate racing in Scotland. No venue in this day and age is 100% safe from re-developement unfortunarly.
I've just google earthed it and have to admit it is very close to Cowdie, but in reality would they really put themselves in direct competition by running the same night as the local established organisation? It dosn't really make much business sence does it?
With a bit of forward planning and co-operation dont you reckon it could just be a good thing for Scotland? Stranger things have happened, Newtongrange and Cowdie shared saloon and hot rod drivers for a while, and last year Brisca F1 had a WF on a spedeworth track.... |

um maybe because cowdie has had its day and drivers dont want to race there i think last night says a lot about that. Most cowdies this year have averaged around 25 cars go to knockhill a track youll not get no where near as much damage and they get 45ish cars |

Aint askin you though!!! Seriously though, Last nights turnout certainly showed Knockhill is the "preffered" track North of the border nowadays. Wouldnt go quite as far as sayin Cowdie is "dead" for the 2s, numbers are down, not doubt about that, but this season in particular so far, in my personal opinion anyway has provided some good racin and with the likes of Mr Polley 'n Brennan returning for more it shows there's still an appeal for drivers although granted not as many as we'd all like.. So in the meantime I'll not be signing the death warrant quite yet!!

| Is nobody paying attention to your anti new track stuff on Racewall.net Big Spud so you're trying your luck here. Seems like the only folk with a good word to say about Cowdenbeath nowadays are on the staff there. The new track is looking good. I pass that way often when i'm out with the dog. I was unsure about it at first but with Cowdenbeath as bad as it is nowadays it has my support. | Quote: | | if Cowdie did go the same way it would devastate racing in Scotland. |
Not if, more like when. The owners are activly and openly seeking permission to build a new Football stadium on the South side of the town and not once during that process has Stock Car racing been mentioned, either moving it to the new ground or relocating it altogether. It is simply being kept going until the move as it is less hastle than pulling the plug. |
