Sorry no pictures this week even from the pits due to me eating between races. I did take some onboard footage which turned out great except that we had mounted the camera on its side lol
A rare dry and sunny day up at Brampton set the scene for one of the best meetings there for the Modstox in the last couple of years with so many drivers competing for top 3 places all afternoon and lots of bumperwork and last benders!!
Heat 1 saw 5 Richard Edwards storm into an early lead that he was to hold onto until the flag, the story of the afternoon as it turns out. Further down the field a racelong battle had begun for 2nd and 3rd places with 256,56,95 and 45 all trading blows. From 3rd place 95 Nath Picken was unlucky to spin out in the later stages.
Heat 2 More of the same for the 5 car with another emphatic victory and by the end of lap 1 45 Brandon marlow had made it up to 2nd place. Further down the field 93 and 6 were battling away for 4th place when 56 Neil mac pulled off a great move down the inside to take both cars in one go showing just why he has the Gold Roof!!
Shaleshifters Final With the Shaleshifters trophy up for grabs this was a hard fought race right from the first bend, but once again 5 Rich Edwards showed his class to take his first title in only his second ever meeting!! 808 was a big casualty in this race clipping the inside tyres and leaving the 45 car nowhere to go, Mark sustained alot of damage to the back axle and didnt make it out again.
Grand National After driving well all afternoon Brandon finally got the victory he deserved with a great drive and ending up well clear of 2nd. 223 Nick Smith also did well to get a 6th place in his first ever meeting after steadily improving all day. 56 Neil Mac landed a well timed last bender on the number 6 car to grad third spot.
An enjoyable days racing and with 2 drivers in only there 2nd ever meeting getting into the top 3 in all but one race, it looks like this could be the most open season for a long time!!
Just think for around £1000 you could buy your own competitive car and be out racing with us! Thanks for anyone that read this far
