I was told today Gypsies had moved in at Coventry Stadium - went have have a look but it's OK - just Startrax moving in lol!

Seriously though - why is it Bele Vue struggles to get 40 cars yet as soon as they operate out of Coventry 61 cars are already booked in?

Hi Tim,
Could be put down too numerous things such as : Geographical location ie Coventry centrally based for alot of the drivers, the facilities at Coventry compared to Belle Vue, the prize money- as long as I have been watching
stox at Brandon they have always paid good start monies and prize money.

But being a Startrax promotion the prize money would be the same as Belle Vue wouldn't it?

I still firmly believe Tim that it's the unforgiving fences at BV and Sheff that put's drivers off these two venue's that booking list is proof that the driver's are happy to race for the promotion, it's his two axle ripping fences that are the problem, just my opinion!

Tosh has hit the nail on the head for me, Saturday night compared with sunday night is a big factor, belle vue is a bit far for a sunday night meeting for a lot of drivers especially drivers with familys who have kids that have school the next day, no fun going to bed at 1am then getting them up at 7am for school etc.

Also its a NS round, even at belle vue on a NS night you still possibly would have had 40ish cars.

Prize money is exactly the same as per National schedule - in fact November, August BV drivers get a `reward' of £100 start money.

It is purely down to location and Saturday night - feel pretty certain BV would get 50+ on a Saturday, sadly that will not happen due to greyhound racing.

Pretty pointless comparison Tim to be fair - It is race day / night which also means we have to work harder to source a local audience as Sundays are not popular with travelling fans or drivers - BV fence is not a factor.

Example - KL - SKEG - NIR as examples - all USED to be Sunday afternoon venues and have flourished on Sat nights - Sheffield Monday night - crowd almost doubled to Sun afternoon AND [ for no rational reason ] much bigger F1 attendance!

Rejoice, look forward to potentially good racing, sod the navel gazing !
