A day filled with sorrow we’ll always remember
The Legend, the Maestro, the true number one
He’ll never be forgotten for all the races he won
He was plucked from our midst in the blink of an eye
And the loss of one man made so many cry
His achievements were many and may never be surpassed
He even proved recently, he was still bloody fast
Too soon and too early, we have to ask why
He’s gone to the raceway up in the sky
Whether you loved him or not, whether you’d clap or you’d boo
All of us fans would have loved to have been you
