| Newport Speedway have announced that they are changing their raceday from saturday to Friday so that stock cars can run every Saturday night.
But lets not get excited. The 'stox' will be run by Trojan International. Probably bangers and odds & sods. |

They already are !
Bad timing after last saturdays absolute debarcle of a meeting they held. Any promotor ever feeling they have been given a hard time on here, should read the ringwood open thread on ovalchat !
Sure the SW loon drivers would love a shale track almost in the region. |

| A real opportunity missed for Loons and Two's on shale in the south west (almost).
Just a thought, but shouldn't the leaders in the stox world - BriSCA/ORCi/Incaworth - approach the British Speedway Promoters Association and let them know that, if any speedway promoter is looking for a partner in the stox world, they are the organisations to deal with?

| We don't know that it hasn't been tried, but then we don't know that it has. Given the usual belief from most Speedway promoters that stock cars are bad, the level of contact between the two sports is minimal, so I'm betting that there hasn't been any formal contact. |

I know mate. Had a few friends who went down there on Saturday to see the Bears race, including One man band Mr Allard, who incidently was in Bears colours for the night. Had a good chat on skype with him on Sunday night about his experience at Ringwood, and you know the rest!
I'm amazed that, and with due respect to Newport Speedway, how they came to the conclusion to work in conjunction with Trojan. I guess he couldn't screw things up anymore could he.
As much stick as Steve Rees has received over the seasons on various racing forums, one thing he does have is a passion for stock car racing. I wish I could say the same thing about Craig Robinson, who quite frankly time and time and time again seems to think about making a quick buck and not actually caring whatsoever about the paying public. If I'm wrong then the promotion has a funny way of showing it doesn't it. |
