| Dear incarwoodworth, Tonight at Birmingham, I witnessed a disgusting occurance. More cars turned up than on the booking list. FOR GODS SAKE, WHAT ARE YOU DOING ! Have you no idea how you will screw up peoples minds, if you let that happen on a regular basis. Folks will have to amend their saved rants that they simply paste week after week after week... I know Mr Wood that you are shrewd, so no doubt have bought shares in kleenex to cash in on their increased sales from facial egg removal. _________________ Standing shoulder to shoulder with anyone who has done anything to promote oval racing, in a positive way.

| I say more of the same please, what ever mr wood did was pure genius, plenty of room in the car park at 5pm, could stand anywhere i wanted without an obstruction, meeting finished at reasonable hour, more cars than first predicted, bright sunshine and the beer went down well and all home by midnight, top night if you ask me, so if mr wood reads this, please let Joe Public know that only 19 cars will be attending every Birmingham from now on Only one real complaint................where was the Ice Cream Van |

| Booking lists - as reliable as a third hand Morris Marina ( blast from the past ) or first class post ( wait for the posties to hot under the collar ). Promoters do away with them then all this c*** about the internet "nailing the coffin" and other such nonsense will almost go away.
The extras were due to - 1. No damage from the previous days racing 2. No roadworks on the M6 3. No automatic booking for those who usually come and race 4. No -"he lives close so I'm sure he'll turn up." 5. No BGT or X Factor.
Seriously, it does make a pleasant change to have more turn up than advertised, so much so that Incarace had to count all the cars on track for Ht 1 and then say - "Please can you pull off and race later" to 10 of them lol Now the unpopular and anti thing of the moment - 30 cars isn't exactly a world record turnout. |

Do you think that there aren't folk online who've read some reports of poor weather, turnout or anything else and decided to give a meeting a miss ??
I don't think that Internet forums are 'that' damaging, but they certainly don't help at times. And without a shadow of doubt, they do bang in nails, no matter how much we try and deny it.

Yes, but who were the people who started the booking list thing????? When a promoter says "booking list now 53" everything is all sweetness and light but as soon as it's "booking list 23" everythings bad. If the car numbers are in the 25 - 30 region then no problem if the meeting is presented well, the public looked after, and the whole format of racing is evolved to suit those numbers. 2 hts and consi with 29 cars is naff. qualifying heats are worthless and fixture planning is ever more so vital. Brum was Ok last night, 3 20 car hts, seen better, seen worse. it isn't the drivers who are racing that is the issue, it's the small number of drivers full stop, sign of the times. No different to most motorsports.
The internet has only replaced the talk in the bar after a meeting and if people think something is bad that's what they think and no positive thinking campaign will change that, it is as it is. The Brisca website and BSCDA website / facebook / twitter pages is where the only positive stuff should be, but how out of date and lacking in information are they?????? |
