This is terrible news about Steve Newman. Utterly stunned to hear this. Only just logged on to read this.

Heard this last night but wasn't 100% sure so held back posting until it was confirmed,just shows despite all the safety measures in place these guys n gals who go out to entertain us can unfortunately pay the ultimate price

I hope nobody minds but I'm copying and pasting what Kelly Newman has posted on the 2L Sallon Stock facebook page

"The messages, comments and texts we have had has been overwhelming thank u to each and everyone I have tried to reply to all of them but if I have missed u then my apologies. To let you all know 8 months ago I booked a holiday which is due for us to leave today, I was going to cancel and spent all day yesterday not knowing what to do. The children however really want to go and upon reflection I have decided that it's probably best. If they keep busy and try and have fun surely that will be better than sitting at home for the next week or so thinking about things all day. I have seen that a lot if you will be paying tribute to Steve at kings Lynn this Saturday which unfortunately we won't be able to make, however billy charley and I will be attending Skegness on Saturday 30th June and I know ppl have also mentioned this date. Billy and charley have asked to give out trophies that night which hazel has kindly agreed to so will see you all then. As I mention mick and I have sorted as much of the funeral as we can yesterday and we are sure it will be on Monday 2nd July at gosberton church and I will confirm the time on here as soon as I know. As many flowers and stock cars to follow in a procession as we can get, any formula. Billy will be leading the procession in his car so please do him proud, this is his day to say goodbye to his dad and to make him proud. From the bottom of my heart thank u all again xx"

There is also a suggestion elsewhere on facebook that if possible people wear pink to Skegness and all drivers of all formulae are invited to paint their bumpers yellow in memory of Steve
